Additional Costs

Required Instrument Rentals & String Lessons

In third grade, all students begin a string instrument and continue with it through eighth grade. The school offers low-cost instrument rentals on a first-come, first-served basis. In addition, the school can make suggestions of where to rent or buy an instrument. Beginning in fourth grade all students are required to have weekly lessons outside of school. Lessons average $25-$30 per half-hour session.

Field Trips

Occasionally there may be small charges for outside field trips.

Annual Fund

We encourage all families to give to the Annual Fund in a way that is meaningful to them.

Explanation of Fees

Enrollment Fee

An enrollment fee is due with each contract submitted to the school. The enrollment fee is not part of yearly tuition and is not refundable.

Tuition Protection Fee

This non-refundable fee is assessed for all families. The tuition protection fee is due on July 5 and will be billed through FACTS, with the exception of families who pay in full by July 15.

Activity & Supply Fee

The non-refundable activity and supply fee is due on July 5 with the tuition protection fee. The activity and supply fee covers the cost of most classroom materials and activities (such as snacks for students in our Early Childhood program, and flutes and recorders, pencils, paper, paints, etc. for the Grades program). Costs for supplies in subjects such as woodworking, movement, and Spanish are included, as well as costs for school festivals. If unanticipated costs arise during the school year, there may be additional charges for specific classes or activities.
