Explanation of Non-Refundable Fees
Enrollment Fee
A $330 enrollment fee is due with each contract submitted to the school. The enrollment fee is not part of yearly tuition and is not refundable.
Tuition Protection Fee
This non-refundable fee is assessed for all families. The tuition protection fee is due on July 5 and will be billed through FACTS, with the exception of families who pay in full by July 15.
Activity and Supply Fee
The non-refundable activity and supply fee is due on July 5 with the tuition protection fee. The activity and supply fee covers the cost of most classroom materials and activities (such as snacks for students in our Early Childhood program, and flutes and recorders, pencils, paper, paints, etc. for the Grades program). Costs for supplies in subjects such as woodworking, movement, and Spanish are included, as well as costs for school festivals. If unanticipated costs arise during the school year, there may be additional charges for specific classes or activities.
Payment Plans
All families, regardless of payment plan selected, will need to enroll in FACTS Tuition Management. Parents and/or guardians may elect to pay the tuition in one of three (3) ways:
• In full: Due July 15; you may opt out of the tuition protection program by submitting a written request to businessmanager@lindenwaldorf.org.
• Semi-annually: Due July 15 and December 15.
• Monthly: Tuition divided into ten (10) payments due July 15 through April 15.
The non-refundable activity and supply fee and tuition protection fee are due on July 5.
The school contracts with FACTS Tuition Management for tuition collection. Payment methods are either automatic debit from a bank account or a credit card charge (with a 2.85% fee added for credit card charges). FACTS provides an online registration process.
The FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment is now accessible using the same login information as the login created for FACTS Tuition Management. You can access both your tuition management account as well as the tuition assistance online application here. For more information, see the LWS Tuition Assistance Guidelines.
Parents wishing to set up a recurring annual fund donation as part of their tuition payment plan may do so by emailing the Business Manager (businessmanager@lindenwaldorf.org). For students enrolling after September 30, tuition will be prorated according to a separate schedule.
Extended Care Fees 2021-2022
Resting Stars Program for Kindergarten and Early Childhood Students
(12:30 p.m.–3:00 p.m.): The school day ends for students in our Early Childhood program at 12:30 p.m., and we offer our Resting Stars afternoon program for children who will be staying at school until 3:00 p.m. We ask families to enroll in this program as part of the regular school enrollment process. Payment for this program will be included with the same payment option chosen for tuition. See the chart below for daily rates.
# Days/Week: | One Day | Two Days | Three Days | Four Days | Five Days |
$710 | $1,420 | $2,130 | $2,840 | $3,550 | |
After Care
We offer After Care from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at a rate of $5 per half hour (up to $18 a day) or $9 per half hour for two children (up to $32 a day). Parents arriving after 5:30 p.m. will be assessed a $1/minute late fee. Charges for Morning Care and After Care will be billed twice per semester, separately from tuition.
Additional Fees and Costs
Instrumental Rentals & Lessons
In 3rd grade all students begin a string instrument and continue with it through 8th grade. The school offers low-cost instrument rentals on a first-come, first-served basis. In addition, the school can make suggestions of where to rent or buy an instrument. Beginning in 4th grade all students are required to have weekly lessons outside of school. Lessons average $25-$30 per half-hour session.
Field Trips
Occasionally there may be small charges for outside field trips.
Annual Fund Drive
Each year, parents, faculty, staff, and friends of the school are asked to give to our Annual Fund. The money raised helps offset operational costs. (Tuition only covers about 85% of our operating budget.) Each family is asked to give at a level that is meaningful to them, and we hope for 100% participation from our community. Linden Waldorf School is a 501(c)(3) organization; gifts are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
