The mission of the Parent Council (PC) is "The Parent Council serves as a springboard for parents' ideas and concerns and as a forum where current issues within the school community can be discussed. The Parent Council strives to facilitate and encourage parents' active and positive communication with the Faculty and Board of Directors, to strengthen social bonds within the Linden Waldorf community, and to promote volunteerism within the school."
The responsibilities of the PC include:
i. Coordinating with other committees to support festivals and other school events requiring parent volunteer efforts.
ii. Initiating and coordinating social events to foster a spirit of community within the school.
iii. Working with the faculty to support parents in their understanding of Waldorf education.
iv. Soliciting parent feedback, sharing in joint problem-solving and promoting the flow of information between the parent community and the other bodies of the school in matters affecting the parent community.
The Parent Council consists of a chair, a co-chair, a representative from each class, a faculty representative, and an administrative representative. Membership in the Parent Council is voluntary and will be affirmed by the parent community. Positions for the following year will be announced and filled before the close of the current year.
