Linden Waldorf School of Nashville

Parent Alliance

The mission of the Parent Alliance (PA) is "to provide a form and forum for parent ideas, concerns, and participation, to support the school, and to create a vibrant community."

The responsibilities of the PA include:

  • Overseeing the organization of the Elves’ Faire and assisting at other festivals requiring parent volunteer efforts;
  • Coordinating the volunteer efforts of parents and friends in the physical improvement and maintenance of school buildings;
  • Initiating and coordinating social events to foster a spirit of community within the school;
  • Endeavoring to increase awareness and understanding of Waldorf philosophy among parents and friends in the extended community;
  • Actively pursuing fundraising activities to provide for events and activities pertaining to parent education and social gatherings, as well as equipment, maintenance, teacher training, and services beyond the means of funds otherwise available to the school.

All Linden Waldorf School parents are automatically members of the PA. The PA is led by the PA Council, consisting of PA officers, representatives from each class and subcommittee chairs. The PA Council meets once each month together with representatives from the Faculty, Administration, Outreach and Development. The PA class representatives communicate between the PA Council and their classes, and the PA Chair serves as a voting member of the Board.

The PA maintains a website with information just for parents. If you are a parent and would like access, please send an email to pa@lindenwaldorf.org.
